The Youth Summit is a statewide event to bring youth in grades 6-12 together to share their community environmental projects and engage in discussions about sustainability. This year’s Youth Summit theme is:

Voices of our Future: Standing up for Social Justice

The Wisconsin Green Schools Network, in partnership with the Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education, will host a Youth Summit at UWSP for middle and high school students (grades 6-12) on Thursday, April 12, the day before the Envirothon.

The Youth Summit takes place on Thursday, April 12. Lodging will be available the night before or the night after. For those schools who choose to participate in both the Youth Summit and Envirothon, lodging is available on Thursday, April 12 at the Lions Camp. Students not participating in Envirothon can participate in an alternate Youth Summit activity on Friday (additional registration fee applies) while waiting for their classmates to finish the competition.

The Youth Summit is designed for both educators and students to learn! At the Summit, students from around the state will present the community projects they have completed locally and take home new ideas for project inspired by their peers’ stories through formal presentations or participation in a poster session.

All projects will demonstrate a relationship to the sustainability of our world.  Students are invited to submit presentation proposals. Preference will be given to projects that show the relationships of more than one sustainability category. Outstanding formal presentation recognition will be given.
